Is the water problem of Vasai Virar really solved?

After Surya Pani Project, Vasai Virar City got surplus water, and now the battle of credit has started. All the parties and organizations are claiming that the water came because of us. Considering the growing population and water scarcity of Vasai Virar city, MMRDA has come up with a plan to provide an additional 403 million litres of water from the Surya Project. Out of this, 185 million litres of water are planned for Vasai Virar city and 218 million litres of water for Mira Bhayander City. The work of this scheme was started in 2016. Water will be brought from MMRDA to the Kashidkopar (Virar) reservoir. After that, this water will be distributed in the city by the Municipal Corporation. Through this scheme, 284 kilometers of water channels have been laid within the city for water distribution and 17 reservoirs have been created. Even after the deadline for this work, water did not come. On the other hand, the issue of water became acute as water scarcity was increasing in the city. As the demand was increasing, there was not enough water in the city and there was a severe water shortage in the city. The municipality started water supply once in 5 days department-wise. Tankers became active in the city. New settlements were developed in many places. But they could not get water. The last summer, the citizens suffered a lot. Due to this, the issue of water in Vasai Virar became acute.
