One of the most awaited Annual events, in Palghar, apart from ‘Mahi Vasai’ and ‘Vasai-Virar Mayors Marathon’, is the ‘Vasai Kala Krida Mahotsav’ – organized by the Vasai-Virar Taluka Kala Krida Vikas Mandal on the Chimaji Appa grounds, Vasai West.
After a magnanimous Silver Jubilee in 2014, the Mahotsav attained even greater glory in its 26th Year! More than 50,000 participants struggled hard, throughout the 6 day event, to lay hands on the Trophies and the Gold, Silver and Bronze Medals in more than 150 events ranging from sports to culture and literature.
Around 250 judges and referees, from registered associations, were invited to bring this event to successful completion. The huge crowd was managed very efficiently, right from the audience on the grounds to the road traffic. The event witnessed great politicians and celebrities from every field, thus building motivation and creating an atmosphere of excitement! Several young boys and girls from Naigaon deserve a pat on the back as they participated enthusiastically in team events, spent long hours in practice and bagged Trophies and a lot of Medals too!
Giving due acknowledgment to the entire Team involved in putting up such a grand event, special mention goes to Mr. Prakash Vanmali, General Secretary, who is the driving force of Kala Krida. His steadfast nature and humble spirit play a major role in fruitful coordination and continued enthusiasm of the team. We couldn’t ask for anyone more approachable and broad minded to lead the show!!
