In many parts of Maharashtra villages women still only wear sarees and the tattered one or two is all that have. Many places even the length of the saree is less than the standard to cut costs.
In cities many of us have a good collection of sarees, many that we haven’t worn for years. They just fill up spaces in our wardrobe. So we can donate some sarees for whom these are a symbol of their dignity.
